About Us

The Florida Community Health and Wellness Dashboard

was supported by funding from the Florida Department of Children and Families Substance Abuse and Mental Health Program Office. The Florida Community Health and Wellness Dashboard is a tool intended to capture epidemiology data profiles related to the four state priority problems including:

        - Underage Drinking
        - Adult Heavy Alcohol Use
        - Prescription Drug Abuse
        - Marijuana Use

The data included within the dashboard span over 20 data sources from across the state to provide users substance abuse related information as well as demographic information for Florida, its regions, and the 67 counties. This page serves as the entry portal where users will be able to view consumption data, consequences, and contributing factors related to the state priority problems.

Project Background

In 2005, the Florida Department of Children and Families was awarded the Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant (SPF SIG), a five year grant funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP). The goals of the grant were to prevent the onset and reduce the progression of substance abuse as well as build prevention capacity and infrastructure at the state and community level.
